槟城小食 / Penang Small Eatery, Miri

Lately my Facebook friends has been talking about a new coffee shop in Miri, with its specialty dish the Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw.  My family and I decided to give the place a try this morning.

Penang-Small-Eatery

The name of the coffee shop is called 槟城小食 (Bīn Chéng xiǎo Shí), which means ‘Penang Small Eatery’ in Mandarin.

It is a very modest coffee shop which is focusing on its 3 dishes, which is the Penang Chicken Rice, Penang Prawn Mee and the most sought-after, Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw, all selling for RM6.  Any Mirians would agree that good Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw is a rarity in Miri.

Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw.  I believe this would be the main dish most people will go after.  Definitely one of the most delicious and true to the flavours of real Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw.

Penang-Fried-Mee

Penang Prawn Mee, a soup-based dish.  Spicy and tasty, this dish lives up to its name, the Prawn Mee as the scent of the prawn in the soup is very aromatic.

Penang-Chicken-Rice

Penang Chicken Rice, another tasty dish that is available for anyone who doesn’t like si-ham (clams) or spicy dishes, especially suitable for the kids.

槟城小食 (Bīn Chéng xiǎo Shí) / Penang Small Eatery is located in Krokop Industrial Area, exactly next door to Mdm Wee Coffee Shop.
