From the same developers as Eastwood Valley, the Beach Republic located at Luak Bay, Miri, opened their doors to the public on Friday. I must admit, seeing their banners being hung on the lamp posts all the way from the ASEAN bridge till town, it has made me curious on what the place actually offers. And so, I had the opportunity to drop by with my family and friend.
A elegantly designed main entrance to give a first good impression of the resort.
The resort currently offers a swimming pool and a restaurant. At the time of this posting, the swimming pool is still free for anyone to use, however please note that there are no lifeguards on duty, so swim at your own risk.
The restaurant is named “The Burger Joint”. Your orders must be placed inside the restaurant where the payment counter is located. From the name, it is obvious that their main dishes would be burgers, and after glancing through the menu, my suspicious was confirmed. They allow for your own ‘customized’ burger where you get to choose your own fillings and toppings, which provides many interesting selections.
I chose the easy way out by just ordering one of their house burger, “The Classic Burger”. Food and drink prices are slightly higher than normal diners, but it is still within the acceptable range. (Note: The restaurant serves alcohol)
A lot of effort was put into the interior design of the resort. The picture above shows one of the corners where a group of friends could just sit down to have a drink while some others could be dipping themselves in the pool.
I could not help but notice the incredible white Christmas Tree that was placed inside the restaurant. Most decorative Christmas trees that I have seen this year are the normal green in colour. Although lightly filled with the various ornaments, the tree looks extremely elegantly pure with enough bright coloured lights to make anyone dining there to feel the Christmas atmosphere.
All in all, Beach Republic Luak Bay Miri gives a good first impression to any visitors, be it going there just for a visit, a dip in the pool, or to dine. There are still a lot of work-in-progress going on around the resort, but one thing is for sure, it is definitely going to be a hit once they have completed all phases of their construction.
